Welcome to a Monki store that is so much more than a portal into the magical Monkiworld! This store is also a testing ground for several Planet power initiatives developed by the Monki store concept team. With the aim to create a more circular store experience, the team has focused on conscious material choices and design for portability. Enter through an impactful open facade, subtly illuminated to enhance the layers of harmonious mint green arches and circles. To minimize new materials used in the build, no glass was added to cover the facade openings, the staff simply roll out hidden accordion gates to seal off access to the store in the evening. The current campaign is displayed in the windows on mannequins with expressive wooden arms and a long-life window kit that reduces the need for short-life material. The kit can easily be transformed into a rail to show garments on hangers, hold large graphics or display smaller products on Smile plastic shelves made from recycled yoghurt pots. Dividing the space without built walls with layers of studs and boards is the arched Wing display. Delivered flat pack, the Wing display is easy to mount on site and neatly presents hanging garments, accessories and shoes on EKOply shelves made from recycled mixed waste plastics. The high ceiling is kept open and sprayed white, making the space feel airy and light while saving material otherwise used to close it off. Pastel colors decorate walls and sparkling ceiling features which playfully frame and highlight the collections. Garments are carried by hangers in Fasal, a material composed of PEFC certified saw dust & recycled post-consumer plastics that can be re-molded into new hangers multiple times. To boost the feeling of a warm embrace as you enter the fitting room area, with its woody scalloped cabins and forest rainbow curtains, the soft pink color of the walls matches the color of the recyclable ceiling tiles. Uplifting messages pasted to the mirrors empower our customers as they try on their favorite things. Recovered wood forms the core of the Unilin melamine panels used to construct a modular checkout. The area is carefully designed to simplify the moment of purchase for our customers, offering a generous lower surface to increase accessibility. A video wall above the checkout loops clips with Monkis sisterhood values and sustainability efforts.
