Mohawk Group partnered with Gensler for the redesign of its New York showroom to create an elevated and multi-functional space that focuses on product education, interactive touchpoints with their product, and the ability to entertain guests. The 13,000-square-foot showroom features an open layout with distinctive company branding, inviting workspaces and a variety of meeting rooms. Two central display cubes and floating shelving units display the company’s latest products and invite guests to experience new soft- and hard-flooring collections. Throughout the showroom, flexible track lighting accommodates evolving product vignettes, and open and closed-storage options integrate seamlessly into the space for quick reference during meetings. The showroom hosts multi-purpose touchpoints to service clients and employees alike: a client-facing pantry, two lounges, a visualization lab/classroom, and a library workshop. The pantry features a stone island countertop, bar-stool seating, and kitchen appliances to service the in-house sales team and for company events. The showroom co-exists with the sales team’s workplace, which provides a variety of focused and collaborative settings, including standing workstations, three quiet rooms, and a 12-seat conference room. Two small-scale conference rooms feature installations of the company’s carpet and resilient tile products, while dedicated areas throughout the spaces cohesively exhibit Mohawk Group flooring options.
