Chief Designer

Everyone has an imagination about space, and Tanya's design presents the most desirable appearance in people's mind. In terms of space scale, height, proportion, material matching, etc., so that people in the space can achieve spiritual satisfaction, and people in the space can take what they need, and can do what they want to do without worrying, and achieve physical and mental satisfaction and feeling. How to meet the space needs of a family of three within the limited space specification was the biggest issue in this residential project. Considering that the space will need to accommodate three adults in the future, the designer created this space with the concept of flexibility and shape-shifting. In this case, the designer added the dimension of time to the three-dimensional design, and explored in depth the transformability and extensibility of the space, so that this house becomes an organic space that changes with the development of time and grows together with the young children in the family. The unique curved structure and wood grille are leading the eyesight to the mountain view. The curved ceiling visually extends the space, incorporating the outside mountain view inside the home space. The Washitsu is designed with flexible sliding doors and windows if privacy is needed. When the doors and windows are fully closed, the room is a children's bedroom, and when the doors are all open, it becomes a spacious public space allowing children to move freely. Because the female owner is used to stand putting on her makeup before leaving the house, the designer integrated the cosmetic cabinet with the wardrobe in the entrance. The cabinets are equipped with large mirror doors to reflect the entire interior the house, making the space and view infinitely extended. At the same time, it can be used as a dancing mirror for her. The designer hand-carved a wood carving art to recreate the homeowner's travels to Uluru Rock Mountain in Australia as a present. For a family of three, 80 square meters is a small home space. Nonetheless, this project breaks the traditional spatial boundaries between living room and sleeping room. By using the flexible door design, the space has the possibility to grow in terms of use. The kitchen is also an important area of the home, and since the female owner also loves to cook, the designer has reserved 1/4 of the entire apartment for the kitchen. The designer as well brings the view into the space, allowing the residence to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. In this transformable and growing living space, this tiny apartment is infinitely enlarged through a light and flexible structural system to meet the needs of each family member at any point in time.
