MIKSI Social Work Café is an innovative proposal that merges the concept of coworking with the specialty coffee experience — a multifunctional space tailored to the demands of modern professional life. Located in the Cánovas neighborhood, in the heart of Valencia, this 400 m² café is designed not only to serve excellent coffee but also to become a hybrid between a workspace and a community meeting point.

MIKSI was created in response to a growing need: spaces that combine professional productivity with high-quality coffee. With a carefully considered layout, the journey begins with a takeaway coffee area, which leads into a specialized espresso bar and another dedicated solely to filtered coffee, then transitions into the work area. The space is designed with a focus on flexibility and versatility, offering everything from individual workstations to collaborative zones, private offices, phone booths, fixed desks, meeting rooms, lounges, and an interior patio that connects to the outside to maximize natural ventilation — ideal for the mild Valencian climate and its seamless integration with the indoor environment.

The concept of traceability is a core pillar of this project. Inspired by the principles of specialty coffee — where product traceability is essential — this idea is extended to the architectural design and daily operations of the space. Every component, from the materials used to the process of selecting local suppliers, follows a principle of transparency and quality. Just like the coffee served, every element within MIKSI has a story — from the choice of industrial materials to the implementation of technological solutions to enhance user experience.

The space has been envisioned as a flexible ecosystem, capable of hosting events, workshops, tastings, and pop-ups. MIKSI’s versatility allows the café to transform into a hub for cultural and social interaction within the local community, while still maintaining its role as a productive work environment.

The selection of materials follows a minimalist and industrial philosophy, using galvanized steel, ceramics, polished concrete, and neutral porcelain finishes across most surfaces. The use of Ecopanel acoustic panels ensures excellent sound conditioning, creating environments that are ideal for both work and interaction.

Sustainability is also a top priority in the design, with the implementation of Daikin air recirculation systems and energy-efficient solutions to minimize consumption. Additionally, local materials are prioritized, promoting nearby suppliers and reducing the project's carbon footprint.

Miksi adapts to the community’s needs through its versatility. The space accommodates a variety of uses, including social events, workshops, pop-ups, and coffee tastings — offering a platform for activities that promote cultural and social exchange.
