Due to reconstruction of MIKIMOTO Ginza Main Store, they had to stop their “MIKIMOTO JUMBO CHRISTMAS TREE” project which has been a notable Christmas feature in Japan for more than 40 years. In 2017, when they reopened their main store, we+ designed and produced the Christmas tree which was revived as “MIKIMOTO GINZA TREE 2017”. There are three triangular pyramid shaped trees in the huge window which faces the Ginza main street. We set the main tree, which was about 6 meters in height in the middle, and the two smaller trees, about 2.5 meters in height, on either side. The delicate and pure white surface of the tree is made from urea crystal which is vaporized saturated urea aqueous solution. The slowly shifting lights set in the trees shine the one-of-a-kind sight created in the phenomenon of nature and by adding urea culture solution during the term, the crystals grew day by day changing its shape.
