This project faced multiple challenges including its location on the edge of Paris. Its main goal was to transform a building dating from 1957 (renovated in 2000) into a contemporary office building that would attract prime tenants.
To foster access via all modes of public transportation (the arrival of the tramway is expected in 2018), STUDIOS flipped the access to the building to face the main boulevard which now benefits from enhanced visibility and a new identity with a new double-height hall. Large full-height glass panels maximize transparency toward the core of the building, fostering a dialog with the surrounding area and participating in the revitalization of the neighborhood. The former entrance and lobby have been transformed into a cafeteria giving onto an exterior garden terrace.
The architectural challenge was to flood the entire building with light and into the 3 000 m² lower floors, achieved by punching a series of holes through three levels and adding glass roofs over the conference area. The lower floors have been transformed into lively and convivial areas for meeting and sharing and include two new restaurants and a cafeteria that are open throughout the day for informal meetings and collaboration. The auditorium has become the architectural core of the building, its volume highlighted by majestic wood cladding punctuated by luminous strips. The office floors, meanwhile, have been modernized and optimized to accommodate up to 1,350 people.
