Memento Voyage is a collage of the homeowner’s fondest travel memories, destinations in their journeys serve as inspirations for multiple elements. With the designer’s artistic touch, the home becomes a beautiful journal written with the owner’s experiences.

The sofa and the wall behind combined serve as the centerpiece of the living room. The shelf on the wall, inspired by the windows of the buildings in Mykonos, holds the souvenirs obtained in the journeys. Underneath, a space reserved for the suitcases, turning them into a part of the decor. Hiding next to the wall of memories is a daybed, the area fosters a serene, dream like ambiance for the owner to reminiscence their adventures.

A translucent screen wall at the foyer elegantly provides spatial division, the designer opts for hand-crafted Italian solid glass bricks with a thickness of mere 5.3 cm as its material, avoiding the visual heaviness if chunkier blocks were used instead. The glass bricks bring about the remembrance of the glass workers’ masterfulness in Italy, and the screen wall act as the transitional element helping anyone who enters the apartment ease into the style of the space.

The Wall of Love in Paris inspired the blue wall in the kitchen area. The wall can be used as a blackboard for notes or grocery lists, it invokes the romantic image of its inspiration once written on. The soothing pastel color of the floor comes from the city of Venice, paired with the gray of the walls, the space itself becomes the perfect backdrop of this spatial journal.

To push the boldness, neat rectangular shapes are used as the key visual distinction of the space. Exposed pipes and ducts on the ceiling add a hint of industrial aesthetics, with the arrangement of the lines becoming a part of the composition and, in addition, reducing the difficulty of maintenance. The dashing color of the sofas contrasts the gray of the walls and ceiling, creating an eye-catching image akin to a modern art piece. The minimalistic approach of the design and the striking color choices create a delicate juxtaposition which is both playful and relaxing. The apartment is a subtle and tasteful display of the owner’s adventurous personality and love for traveling.

To preserve the joy of the homeowner’s experiences, their health must, too, be protected. The designer chooses San Marco mineral paint for its non-toxicity and eco-friendliness. Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) is installed to maximize air quality and reduces dust cumulation, providing a comfortable and easy-to-maintain environment. Honeycomb shades are employed for temperature control and let the space take full advantage of abundant natural light, coupled with the simplicity of the décor, the project minimizes its negative impact on both the environment and its users. Memento Voyage proudly expresses its connection to the owner and justify its existence with its design approach.
