New York City-based Parts and Labor Design was tapped to create Marsh House, a dining destination unapologetic in its boldness yet embracing of its cuisine. Housed on the ground floor of Thompson Nashville, a luxury boutique hotel, the signature seafood restaurant combines old south elegance with new south creativity. The design team sourced inspiration from New Orleans and the old-world family estates that are prevalent in the region. Nostalgic, timeless, and fashion-forward, its southern style is embodied in the menu and creative interiors. Beckoning guests from the hotel’s lobby, a custom wood and glass partition serves as grand entry to the restaurant, with oversized sliding doors reminiscent of those found in an estate library. Custom geometric concrete flooring of gray, cream, and charcoal and a high-gloss green ceiling with mirrored inlays reflect a light-flooded dining room. Guests are greeted by a lounge that features plush and comfortable seating. Beyond, the upscale dining scene mixes vintage wallcoverings with bespoke furniture and impactful light fixtures, all highlighting a luxurious residential eclecticism that is celebrated in the South. A decorative partition divides the main dining and bar areas, where an antique mirror tile and tambour oyster bar serves as the restaurant's main focal point. At the rear of Marsh House a private dining room is decorated in green, cream and grey tones mixed with blue hues and warm woods.
