The M.A.R.S. (Micro-Automated Retail Store) units are part of a catalogue of retail space offerings from WithMe and extend the approach developed for their mobile unit and new in-line stores to define not only a highly specific brand identity for WithMe but also to provide a coherent avant-garde architectural language broad enough to work for any retailer. The M.A.R.S. concept was designed for shopping center common areas, to inject energy and respectability into this underutilized and under-designed zone, with the ability to host a rotating series of brands, from curated selections to feature launches, and events. Many different types of merchandise, from apparel to shoes, toys, jewelry, cosmetics, and electronics, have been displayed in the units. These turnkey omni-channel spaces with a highly adaptable merchandise display system and advanced technology permit in-store and online purchases. Tenants can select and set up their store from WithMe’s website and can be open for business in as little as 4 weeks. Once a unit is on location, it can easily be adapted for a new tenant by "changing files, not fixtures”. Digital signage and instant checkout components can be quickly reconfigured with simple onboarding of a tenant’s catalogue of branding and inventory. Since the units can be located anywhere in the world, meeting the various local code requirements required that the design adhere to the most stringent ADA and fire code requirements.
