'MATERIALSCAPE'
Inspired by the features of the location, Osaka, where is a dense yet exquisitely balanced city with buildings, people and things, we have created a space with high density of materials in comparison to the size of the space. The space was designed to bring a sense of exaltation in response to the Maison Special brand's concept of 'special is your standard'.

A sense of exaltation is an important keyword for the shop where is the extraordinary space. By creating a situation that people are exposed to overwhelming numbers of texture, pattern, colour all at once, which they would not normally experience in their daily lives, the shower of exaltation has created in the space.

Even just looking at the five steps which connect two areas on different levels, it composed of seven different colours and materials, including marble with a sense of quality, wood with a natural texture and Corian with a bright colouring, giving the impression of positive discomfort, strong impression, unusualness and dynamism.

Also, fixtures made of reclaimed woods and marble stones has random and coincident shape and texture.

In some cases, a space with a high density of diverse materials may lose its cohesiveness. However, an exquisitely balanced ‘MATERIALSCAPE’ has emerged as a result of developing relationships based on understanding the feature and background of materials.
