The new Dandy store is nested in the magnificent Royal Galleries, in the heart of Brussels, an iconic location built in 1847 and remaining one of the chicest retail locations of the city, hosting most of Belgian heritage brands.
The front window of the store respects the gallery neoclassical style, and so do the original wooden cabinets, which served as fixtures in the pharmacy and book store that used to occupy this space. Entering the store, the visitor comes face to face with the impressive marble counter displaying all the delicacies of Dandy, a “Horn of Plenty” filled with biscuits, speculoos, sweets and cakes. Behind it, the cabinets have been papered with party-colored patterns that create a striking contrast with the antique woodwork, all the way up to the indoor balcony that runs through the store.
A display in the store side, the counter becomes a bar on the coffee side, a cosy corner where the visitor can enjoy coffee with its purchase of sweets. Each space gets its distinctive lighting signature, a chandelier for the tea room, and brass pendant lights over the store, reminding the golden polka dots, the graphic signature of the brand.
