Introducing the third Macera location—because good things always come in threes. And this time, it’s all about the kiss—because there’s no Macera without one. By the hand of CODOO STUDIO, Macera brings its latest space to the Chamberí neighborhood.
Ten years ago, the first Macera on San Mateo Street shook things up. Its opening changed Madrid’s nightlife indefinitely. A bar with no brands, it was a game-changer in the world of night-time fun, redefining how we think about consumption. Against all odds and in the face of doubters, it quickly became a go-to spot in Madrid. Macera is back.
The original space had a gritty, New York vibe, with DIY spirit and raw materials, but now we’re catering to a new generation that craves freshness, innovation, and bold impact. We believe in the beauty of that which is stripped down —an honest, transparent space. Picture Bofill’s La Muralla Roja – a grand pink canvas full of texture, where every material is visible to the naked eye. A stripped-back design, with nothing to hide and no need for pretension.
Macera was groundbreaking back then, and we’re ready to make it a trendsetter again. We’re going bold, with a nod to “New Memphis” – think bright pinks and reds, a daring punch to the senses. We love impossible combinations, and yes, lipstick has spilled everywhere.
The space is open and continuous, with no visual barriers. Like Gucci in its purest form, the voluminous bar as a physical sculpture that anchors the room.
And the back bar? Still the star of the show. A carefully designed system to dispense spirits and cocktails, no bottles in sight.
Macera is where industry meets craftsmanship. Tradition blends with innovation and design. The “New Bodega System” has arrived in the capital to make waves.
