Located in a place with a history of thousands of years, Longhua Temple has nurtured the changes and development of Shanghai. From ancient times to the present, the existence of Longhua Temple has been accompanied by people's blessings and prayers, and it is agreed to meet at the temple fair at the annual Peach Blossom Festival.
The Longhua Temple Showsuite showcases the contribution of developer Vanke, continuing the spirit of the temple fair, evolving the celebrating culture from the past to today's gathering destination, and inheriting and evolving the glory of the past.
The concepts start with putting the entire temple architecture into the interior space, creating an atrium space that feels like getting in the temple. To execute the idea, we opened the flooring between the ground floor and the first floor, making a circle connecting the two spaces. We introduced the natural sky scene from the second floor to illuminate the entire main entrance. We use digital images on the ceiling on the second floor as a sky scene that represents the feel of the garden-like atmosphere of a traditional Chinese courtyard house. Giving a scene of sacred space that respects the nature of the heritage temple.
The overall visiting journey continues with entering different round spaces that look like different floors inside the temple to present the various contributions that Vanke has input to it. Of the possibilities of the two stories spaces inside the showroom, The ground floor is themed on the architectural features of Longhua Temple, leading visitors to understand the original intention and concept of the Longhua project and hosting celebrations. In contrast, the first floor displays the new image of the Longhua project, merging the old and the future scenario to inherit the historical legend - the Longhua Temple.
