Light House
The original building structure has two floors above ground and one below. The ground floor has a height of 5.5 meters, but the whole super-high space may lose its value without enough natural light. In order to meet the functional requirements, we break the original building space.
We “break” the original logic of the space and return to its architectural essence with the interlacing of “blocks”, so that the staircase flows from “down” to “up”. The flow of light and shadow gives the space its character and the house its life...
“Purity” and “roughness” coexist,, “subtraction” and “addition” occur at the same time. The new white house with the rough texture of concrete, expresses the contradiction between the old and the new. The natural light throughout the space, also emphasizes the “purity” of the house.
“Light” is to space, just as “air” is to life. It gives vigor and soul to the house, outlines the boundaries and lines of building. In the house, everything flows with light and shadow wandering...
