Table lamp with original 70s and 80s glass blocks. A vintage glass block is a sculptural object itself. Proportions, its shape, scale, and graphic patterns all seem very sculptural. The idea was to enhance these mentioned traits, creating a minimalist base with a light source, holding the glass block subtly and emitting light through it. Resurrecting this iconic and stylish detail to a new life made sense. It encoding the ideas of sustainability, a sense of aesthetics and historical context. The architectural element, once extremely popular in brutalist architecture, has remained in our country and preserved the aesthetics of the time. The graphic patterns of the blocks, roughness, weight reflect the era during which they were made, therefore the luminaire looks kind of minimalist sculpture from the 1970s-80s. During the day, the graphic rhythm catches the eye, it sort of stops you for a second, playing well with almost any background of colours and shapes, for instance, flowers or books. The block’s transparency changes the silhouettes of the objects behind it. This original piece of history now became modern, but at the same time it remained nostalgic. All Kismas luminaries have dimmers to choose a desired level of intensity of the light. The set also includes 5 additional easily changeable colour filters, it expands functionality by enabling users to adapt the luminaire to various situations – enriching the interior, providing additional warmth, providing a great atmosphere for a party, or simply creating exceptional lighting for a private or public space.
