Located in the fast-growing 7th District of Taichung, Taiwan, La Bella Vita reunites fine living with social sustainability by promoting harmonious relations with the surrounding urban context and fostering human interactions. Blending an Italian approach with influences from the East, the 33,000-sqm high-rise is characterized by the building’s seemingly disjoint, yet complementary volumes. Four lower volumes of stacked balconies allude to the materiality of rock formations found on the surface of the Earth. La Bella Vita’s apartments are conceived as sculptural, reconfigurable spaces that transmit the joy of spending time with others.

The interior design of the residential units feature high-quality materials and furniture – including Antonio Citterio’s designs for B&B Italia, Maxalto, Flexform and Flos – that lend a uniquely Italian character to the spaces. The attention to details, to the materiality and tonality of the spaces evokes a pure and vivid environment where residents can enjoy their time in private, or in the company of guests.

The spatial design of La Bella Vita’s apartments create flexible and reconfigurable spaces that seamlessly transition from one set-up to another. The apartment units’ study area is designed to be easily convertible into a secluded sleeping room with the use of transparent sliding doors and curtains. The apartments’ use of colors and materials echoes the architectural character of the 128-meter-high building. Stone elements, amber-colored details and masterful lighting design indoors resemble the design of La Bella Vita’s stone balconies and crystalline glass façade.

The interior design of the apartments creates one-of-a-kind spaces for a luxurious lifestyle. Residents’ comfort is guaranteed by the ample kitchen areas, the generous design of bedrooms each comprising a walk-in-closet and a bathroom, and the separation between day and night areas that balances moments of interaction and privacy.
