The Kimpton De Whitt hotel is located in the heart of the city’s vibrant centre and walking distance from Centraal Station.

The ground floor and entrance have been re-worked to improve the connection with the street and provide guests with a dramatic yet coherent arrival experience. The new reception area is defined by bespoke blue & white encaustic floor tiles inspired by the traditional Dutch delft tile and a striking green terrazzo wall which projects internally from the street.

A former lounge at the heart of the hotel has been opened to the sky and reimagined as a traditional hotel courtyard. This new ‘garden room’ is draped in planting, festoon lights and hanging chairs. The space acts as an external terrace to the adjacent House Bar located within the historic Queen of Holland house. Featuring original beams and timber wall panelling, the interior is painted a dark glossy teal with bird motif wallpaper which plays homage to the traditional painted murals that date back to the Dutch Renaissance.

The 274 newly refurbished guestrooms & 15 signature rooms are arranged according to two contrasting colour pallets of ‘dark’ and ‘light’ providing each guest with a unique experience. Several rooms feature original beam work which has been white washed with a gloss paint, a finish favored by the Dutch.

Both the public areas and bedrooms house a dynamic collection of furniture, bespoke brass joinery and crittall screens.
