The concept is based on an interpretation of local villages in the area, with the hotel broken down into a series of smaller buildings creating courtyards and a more personal guest experience.
The architecture is contemporary with local and regional references defined by space, form, light, material and detail. Arrival begins from the driveway to an exclusive courtyard where guests are greeted by a view of
the elegant Lobby. The flared columns of the lobby provide a serene environment, with the design originating from the nature of lilies in a pond and is inspired by the Al Alam Palace, the ceremonial palace
of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.
The ballroom building with its dynamic form, viewed on approaching the hotel, establishes a strong first impression with an architectural design inspired by the Arabic lantern, illuminating in the evening to reinforce
the hotel as a landmark in the Al Mouj community and Muscat city.
The hotel buildings act as a back drop to the keynote building. The external spaces and courtyards create memorable moments framed by the buildings, landscape features and view towards the water. The composition of the external spaces creates a sense of tranquillity.
