Design and construction of an integral renovation of an attic of 110 m2 located on the ninth floor of an industrial building in the Poble Nou district, Barcelona, transformed into our KEIGIO Headquarters. The intervention, completed at the beginning of 2020 with the installation of the central kitchen cabinet, required the necessary permits to be able to expand the surface of windows to obtain a covered terrace effect thanks to the metal raw fixtures designed especially by us. The two fully openable windows allow obtaining a passage of 6.8 meters through which is possible to appreciate the skyline of the city of Barcelona and glimpse the sea. The lower part of the windows is equipped with 12volt laminated LCD glasses which allow to progressively change from opaque to transparent obtaining an effect of total permeability. Electrical surface installation with industrial-style steel channel. A Warmset electric underfloor heating embedded in a concrete slab covered with textured white continuous resin by Gobbetto. The use of low-emission glass together with underfloor heating and the air recycling system allows the project to find an unexpected balance between winter heating and summer cooling efficiency. The simple fact of not needing an air conditioning system highlights the thermo efficiency and guarantees environmental sustainability to the project. Inside we have divided the space with a GRC wall consisting of modular Glass Reinforced Concrete panels and a steel structure designed specifically by KEIGIO. In this way an “office” area and a complete bathroom have been created and host CIELO sanitary ware, CEA Design and Mayday mixer taps by Antoniolupi. The reinforced concrete columns and beams have been sandblasted. Tailor-made NEON lighting accompanied by luminous original 70s design elements by FLOS and Artemide. Central architectural unit, 4 meters long by 120 wides, made of ARPA FENIX-Interiors technical material, birch plywood and stainless steel. Created by imagining modular elements, with an all-Japanese flavor, the central unit houses a huge basin sink and an ergonomic workspace that can be easily equipped as a kitchen with surface induction plates. A bar for two and an almost two meters long cantilevered table complete the micro-architecture. All furniture such as the sofa and shelves as well as the chairs, the main table and the stools are original KEIGIO DESIGN. KEIGIO takes up the concept of “Gamification” proposing typical game dynamics and applying them to interior design in order to enhance motivation to solve problems such as adaptation to a world in global movement where home and job may suddenly change. The original modular sofa and shelf systems, easily transportable and reassemblable, become a practical solution giving the user the freedom to create their interiors. When KEIGIO create products, they focus both on high quality and craftsmanship for maximum durability and also the impact they will have on the environment. We make sure that all the materials are traceable as well as consider the sustainability of the production processes. In tune with the world of underground art, our studio aims to connect with people who are curious about new concepts. KEIGIO Design wants to make an impact on those who love to grow by constantly questioning their surroundings and are open to be amazed.
