This is a clothing select shop located in an out-moded urban district.
At the entrance, the cambered surface set disorderly is led to the inside space. The concrete space is created by the enclosed structures. The exhibition district is arranged by the whole structure. The scrambled lines and their cracked shadows invade inside to draw the geometric shapes.
Coming into the inside along the architectural structure, it’s found that the circular arc equipment divides the space to symmetrical forms with stark contrast of the inside and outside, the light and shade. Sunlight shines into the space through the floor-to-ceiling windows in order and shows graduate changes to dimness with distinguished layers.
The space of the shop and the garden attached to the main volume can reinforce each other. The romantic changes of the four seasons are written into the rising and falling constructing trendency. Indoors there are clothing and accessories that are renewed as the seasons come and end. Outdoors there shows the season itself.
Plants start to sprout when the spring comes while shades of trees bring senses of coolness in summers. In autumns, the ground is spangled with fallen yellow leaves and later in winters, cruel coldness arrives. It seems that it’s the space that is able to grow and interchange, showing the vitality generating from the space itself.
The central district is opened in order to be divided into four different parts. Lights therefore can pour into the space from all directions. The external space is conceived for exhibition while the internal part becomes a natural environment for conventions. At the same time, it can be used as a channel connecting the commencing and the ending portions all the way towards the bar. The space is underpainted with off-white color, subsidized with black walnut, creating an air of warmness and the unique texture.
Stepping onto the second floor, there’s a coffee shop opened to the outside and it follows the eave structure of the former architecture and maintains the rough and plain texture of the material. More lights are invited into the indoor space. The balcony extended to the open air. At noon the sunshine falls on the balcony and at this moment you can sit here for a while and feel the breezes as well as the fragrance of coffee. Freshness and warmth, hoarseness and softness both spread into the enchanting season with time passing by.
The sense of the autumn season generates with the leaves falling down. In the shape of fallen leaves, the equipment seems to be fallen outside at random. At the same time, it’s like a small boat floating among the luxuriant grass, tenuous and entertaining.
For space, the designing work needs to considerate the features of the land and start from the limited conditions. Within the old living neighborhood, there’s tiny quadrangle courtyard. This is like Alice’s adventure at the wonderland.
