The Itoki head office was renovated in November 2024 to embody our "We Design Tomorrow. We Design WORK-Style." mission, to be a place for employees to practice the mission, be creative, learn as individuals and teams, and to foster our culture; and for customers to experience and co-create new workstyles as unique platform for ITOKI's work experience value.

As workstyles evolve rapidly, we need an office which uses design and technology to boost engagement and keep pace with change. Offices must now prioritize both comfort and ease of work, with greater value placed on improvement of space capabilities and consideration for the people who work there in addition to being a place to carry out work.

To achieve our vision of "a place that promotes communication and ideas beyond mere function", we analyzed surveys and usage data to identify issues, spotlight team activity, and integrate spaces and mechanisms to promote collaboration.

The design subtly divides an open space using variations in floor levels and furniture partitions to promote both connection and separation and enhance team strength. It also combines functionality supporting office activities with materials that enhance the appeal of the space. Extensive testing of heights, thicknesses, lines of sight, and materials produced a range of variations. To reduce environmental burden, we reused existing architecture and fixtures and adopted sustainable materials with minimal large-scale construction.

The new space is mainly made of 2 areas; a work terrace connected to the entrance and supporting internal/external collaboration, and a secure workspace reserved for employees. The work terrace blends the internal and external and focusing bringing people together and promoting interaction. Amenities such as good coffee, event planning by dedicated community managers who oversee the facility, and a self-service kitchen support team building. Extensive use of exterior tiles and greenery create a sense of connection with the outside and natural comfort. The workspace prioritizes project-based and team-driven work. An innovative approach integrating space design and technology utilizes a flexible seating management system that allows for adaption to changing work needs. A library fosters learning from others, while music elements drive interest-based interaction to spark conversation and mutual understanding.

Post-renovation surveys show an increase in perceived productivity and a 10% increase in engagement in office pride. Visitor numbers also rose by 110% year-over-year, with over 1,500 visitors from 600 companies each month. Together with visitors, we aim to transform the office from just a place to work to a space where real people connect, collaborate, and inspire each other, and which fosters engagement, boosts productivity and allows us to share insight on creating spaces that support diverse workstyles and to continue to design the workstyles of tomorrow.
