It was located in an obscure place near West Lake. Compared with other places nearby, the environment here shows more rustic charm and nature. The original ordinary-looking residential villa now has been transformed into a hidden private restaurant with a concinnous and peaceful atmosphere. The continuous spatial sequence allows guests to have a narrative experience.

The original entrance at the building's corner was transformed into a secondary pass-through entrance. The designer added the volume to the L-shaped building's concave point, which led to the central orientation to highlight the importance of the entrance and also formed a guide for people to enter.

The staircase was redirected to create a new path, which made the enclosed space spacious and bright. The challenge is that the upper and lower floors of the original site have a distinct sense of separation. So it softens the sense of separation of each floor by adopting a solution with a giant spiral staircase, making the two-and-a-half levels of space naturally connected. The spiral staircase connecting the three floors is the focal point of this area, spiraling upwards under the light from the top.

The second floor adopts a montage technique to separate the traditional staircase and the modern elevator. The bright red, white and gray colors form a sharp contrast, which makes people remember the elevator hall vividly. Due to the lowness of the second layer of the original site, the space was quite limited and the use of the new restaurant was influenced. Therefore, the stylist’s smallpox was removed and the space height and expansion were increased by dint of exposing the pitched roof structure.

Meanwhile, the designer used the height of the sloping roof mainly to increase the attic space used as a catering R&D room and KTV leisure area. The supporting beam-column structure uses different colors of wood, and the attic design lowers the top of the dining area. The mirror surface not only eliminates the volume of the roof and the columns but also reflects the dining table and outdoor scenery. A corner of the original roof was lifted and turned into a terrace. When it rains, the rain hits the glass roof, which is taken from the feeling of "rain hitting the leaves of bananas" in Suzhou gardens. The designer uses the linkage of auditory taste and seasonal climate change to give the space the beauty of artistic conception.

In the private room area on the second floor, the box with heavy gray as the main tone contains a water bar and a rest area, which not only makes efficient use of the small space but also reflects the owner's taste, showing the profound meaning of "the courtyard is a small courtyard". The design brings a new view: the room has a water element. The guests entered the room on the bridge at the end of the creek. The skylight of the room scatters light over the water, sparkling with the flames beside the creek.
