In the current era of consumption upgrade, the new consumer group with 1990s-generation as the dominant consumers not only pays attention to the function and price of products, but is obsessed with quality and experience. They are more willing to choose self-centered solutions than a single product. Given the interior space and future operation mode of HWS atelier Woxi Art Gallery, our design provides the possibility of better appearance, higher quality and more optimized combination. Possibilities of the Exhibition Hall Receiving the project, we found that the original height of the space is rather limited and it is difficult to arrange an exhibition hall with local offices in such a demanding space. Moreover, it’s harder to establish the physical accommodation of the brand positioning, business value, product service and operation mode, and to design the best scene for visitors to contact. Therefore, we didn’t try to raise the height at first but to create unique temperament of the space itself with existing conditions. Mode of Multi-Scene Change How can we update from a traditional exhibition hall to a comprehensive exhibition hall that caters to the needs of the times? How can we thoroughly and systematically show the enterprise DNA in the commercial exhibition hall? For the purpose of ushering in the new change of business exhibition halls and even the times of new retail, we design this project with guidance of passenger flow and creation of value through services as the essence of our consideration. The product exhibition hall should present furniture products but a large number of exhibition halls still display products merely without entering the digital era of new retail involving interactions, experiences, scenes and services. The exhibition hall is not only the place for display and sale but the atmosphere and scene that some products are used in the space. It is easy to imagine that the space without people is necessarily cold. So we set a front hall with many changes in the whole design. The ceiling of overall grid contains the logo of HWS and the space changes through the three lifting platforms. The platforms also have other functions. For example, to display furniture in vogue, the product combination can be directly put on the platforms. They can also be used to form a stage for holding events or a place for releasing new products. Both functional mode and scene mode can be achieved by shifting the multiple mode repeatedly, and new space, scene and temperament can be created according to the change of the operation content. Obscure Functional Boundary In the pursuit of new offices and exhibition halls, the boundary is no longer important. This form has relative property, which is relative to people and exists objectively. At the same time, the formation of the functional space depends on the enclosure and cohesion of various purposes so space has absolute property. We take more initiatives to obscure the boundary of use and display during our design process, which more realistically shows the practicality of the products. On the basis of humanized office products, we attach great importance to the need of office experience with personalized and situational space, and emphasize the concept of "place" in space with changeable forms of open space, mobile office and supplement in the future use at any time to meet the business demand of different office patterns in the future. Thus, efficient office and restoration of the sales purpose of the real office scene can be both achieved. The Rhythm of Space Stretch Space design is similar to the process of giving birth to a baby. The rhythm of the space has been produced from the “placenta” device suspending in the front hall. Without enough height, we better use parallel scales and the techniques of occlusion, turning, broadening and stretching in the hall around. The small scale of the massing combination is coordinated and combined with the wall of the site to form the whole “rhythm skeleton”. Completion of the Product Exhibition Hall with Product Texture Completion degree of construction is the important basis for judging the design score in terms of a good project. We use high strength material texture and prune the details to the best with the simplification to constantly improve the overall beauty of the space and comfort of use. The interface way of product design is also perfectly integrated with modern aesthetics and functions, which is practical and convenient, thus attracting people at first sight and enabling users to enjoy the exquisite experience brought by the space. With such a sense of space sequence, the whole space is endowed with more emotions and provides artistic and permeable visual and perceptive experience that affects the experiencer. It is a way to express time in space design, a design concept and a very significant design technique to create space. Future can be witnessed here with rigorous and orderly details deliberately created and the classic vision of our design. Illuminate the Corner with Art In the vertical field of design, rich and varied works and passionate architectural philosophy exert a profound impact on the urban outlook and the lifestyle of contemporary people in the 20th century. Modernism pioneer Le Corbusier, Swiss architect Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand are three masters that have the most influence. The combination of space and classic furniture products more seems to allow people who arrive at the space to look at a book about modernist design and art. The LC4 recliner in the space is a more typical sign of the three designers’ cooperation and also the milestone in the history of modern design. From our perspective, every product is endowed with soul and forms its own unique temperament after refining design and precipitation of time, and space is the “physical carrier” of the products. The combination of the soul and physicality exactly manifests the fairly practical modern style, meaningful functionality and scenes characterized by the combination of various products, which is the spiritual heritage that we would like to express from the past. Positioning We don’t merely use a single technique but seek a scientific method in each design. In particular, when we design space with coexistence of office and display, we resort to more coherent and logical thinking of methods and bear in mind that all applications are for the sake of the users of the space. An open place with multicultural convergence that allows new values to be carried through the products will be eventually purchased by consumers, which process is called delivery or “channel” simply. Devoid of complicated packaging, good products are repositioned to embrace their highest values.
