Human Nature is Natural Material Studio's largest solo exhibition to date, using their bio-based materials to suggest a future of fluid boundary points between people, space and design within Copenhagen Contemporary's Hall 6 throughout 3daysofdesign in 2023. Human Nature by Danish based design, research and art practice Natural Material Studio represents the culmination of years of research, testing and prototyping materials and design works in collaboration with the elements of nature. During 3daysofdesign, Natural Material Studio re-framed 650m2 of the open industrial environment of Hall 6 within Copenhagen Contemporary – the Nordic regions largest contemporary art institution. Natural Material Studio's own biomaterials and processes – developed from biopolymers, natural softeners, clay and chalk, were weaved into their spatially designed environment with unique, 7-meter-long material works as well as sculptural seating works and framed lightings. Designed as a combination of open spaces that encourage dialogue, and intimate corners in which to promote interaction with the materials and works, Human Nature raises questions about our relationship to the natural world within a highly artistic framework.
