House of Madison, Hong Kong is a flagship concept dedicated to coveted lifestyle and kitchen brands. The showroom, spanning 5,200 sqft over two stories, is envisioned as an immersive, multi-purpose environment merging art and culture, collaboration and creation. Reinterpreting historic shophouses in Hong Kong, the space is designed as shifting interior scenes through an interplay of raw and refined materials. Bronze - featured prominently on both levels - is cleverly employed with both functional and aesthetic intentions. Entering the showroom through a street-level gallery, a sculptural limestone staircase sets a powerful first impression against bronze-clad columns and rails. Ascending with the stairway is a double-height arch, crafted in bronze mesh to stand out against a raw brick backdrop. Upon landing on the upper floor, the semi-transparent mesh is again repeated to striking effect. Styled and arranged as a modern residence, the once-cavernous upper floor interiors are transformed into a succession of intimate social spaces through a series of bronze mesh arches. Appearing in layered pairs, the archways are supported by ultra-thin bronze plates, and serve as a symbolic motif to reference the heritage of the European brands represented in the showroom. Each arch is precisely measured for its width and curvature in order to enable a unique play on light and shadow, while framing signature furniture pieces and curated greenery.
