House of Madison, Hong Kong is a flagship concept dedicated to coveted lifestyle and kitchen brands. The retail showroom, spanning 5,200 sqft over two stories, is envisioned as an immersive, multi-purpose environment merging art and culture, collaboration and creation. Reinterpreting historic shophouses in Wanchai, the space is designed as a sequence of shifting interior scenes to encourage personal exploration. On the street-level, a gallery serves as an adaptable platform for art exhibitions, pop-up shows and town halls. A sculptural stone staircase doubles an amphitheater and leads to the upper floor – conceived as a modern residence with a clever use of bronze arches to divide the cavernous area into social and intimate spaces. From generous dining rooms and kitchen, to a sumptuous lounge and glass-clad wardrobe, each sequential zone highlights an interplay of raw and refined textures – raw bricks as interior facades, contrasting stone and timber finishes, and generous use of transparent materials – tailored to complement the fine collection of products on display.
