Hotel Ottilia is nestled in between iconic brewery buildings and inspiring, modern architecture in the vibrant Carlsberg City District. The upcoming area in Copenhagen is packed with cool design shops, cafés, restaurants - and industrial heritage as a corner stone. Two of the area's most distinctive buildings, Maltmagasinet from 1881 and the listed Lagerkælder 3 from 1969, were left empty for years but has undergone a comprehensive transformation by Arkitema Architects and Brøchner Hotels to form the setting of Hotel Ottilia, a luxury boutique hotel out of the ordinary, named after brewer Carl Jacobsen's wife. The two iconic warehouses have been carefully transformed with respect for their unique characteristics and history, and custom-made designs, interior, and a sophisticated visual identity have been added to bring Hotel Ottilia into a new era. The luxury boutique hotel feature 155 rooms and suites, social areas such as the Dipylon Hall, two bars, conference areas, a fitness room, and a restaurant – all with industrial vibes and listed elements that nod to the past. On the 5th floor, you find 360 degrees unrivaled views of the city from the spacious rooftop terrace, open to both guests and the public. The design of Hotel Ottilia reinterprets the industrial and iconic architecture in innovative ways. The original and unpolished details of the original Carlsberg brewery buildings are preserved throughout, and the different characteristics of the two buildings appear as an architectural whole that has been given a new life as a boutique hotel in the absolute top class.
