HOTEL KARL-AUGUST
The hotel "Karl August" stands for the new openness of Nuremberg. In keeping with the neighbourhood concept, a place of togetherness for guests and Nurembergers with direct access to the river Pegnitz is being created in the new Augustinerhof in Nuremberg's historic city centre. Openness and transparency dominate the interior design concept of the Berlin architectural firm Mekado. The given, complex building geometry creates a multitude of different rooms and unique hotel rooms. The design model of a "spatial continuum" with clear forms, natural materials and numerous visual relationships runs through the entire hotel, whether in the triptych-forming ground floor consisting of lobby, restaurant and café or the semi-transparent glass wall as a space-connecting element between the sleeping and bathroom areas in the rooms.

TISANE CHEFS TABLE
In the new Nuremberg Michelin Star Chef's Table "Tisane" by star chef René Stein, guests become part of the cooking experience and are in direct contact with the chef. The kitchen as a workshop and experience space, representing the process of artisanal creation from the raw product to the refined dish, is also reflected in the design of the interior and room materiality. "Tisane" stands for an extract, an essence of something, and so the interior design is also reduced to the essentials. The design is based on the basic idea of a tension between raw and refined. The clear open show kitchen made of brushed stainless steel in the middle of a U-shaped handmade raw concrete counter is the heart of the guest room. The interior design was handcrafted in cooperation with the Nuremberg artist Philipp Eyrich.

BONBON ICE CREAM SHOP
In the beginning there was the wish for a candy shop à la "Charly and the Chocolate Factory," which stimulates children's fantasies and opens the doors to a childhood dream, to shining children's eyes and sticky fingers. The design focuses in particular on the sales counter, which is made up of four individual stalls in the style of mobile ice-cream vans and sales stalls on the beach in summer.

BRASSERIE NITZ
In the new Augustinerhof in Nuremberg's historic old town, seasonal-regional cuisine meets the modern interpretation of a French brasserie. A lively atmosphere with casual flair and excellent food form the core of this typology. The design leitmotifs of openness and transparency run through the entire design, from the flexibility of the floor plans to the open kitchen area and the close linking of inside and outside, a spatial continuum of hotel and gastronomy is created.

CAFE PIQUE NIQUE
A touch of Paris in the heart of Nuremberg - located at the entrance to the new Augustinerhof, the new Café Pique Nique underlines the Neighbourhood Hotel's concept with its inviting and stylish atmosphere. Global nomads and locals alike meet here. The design is characterised by a Mediterranean-inspired, timeless and lively design with tactile, earthy materials and colours.
