After 10 years as a hotel in Malmö Hotel Duxiana was in need for an update of their rooms and therefor turned to Rumrum for help. Dux is the parent company of Duxiana which is a well known brand in Sweden with a lot of history with Bruno Mattsson as an important designer for the company. In recent years the company has started to modernize it self through a more modern image and new furniture. This was something we wanted to work with when creating the new interior concept for the hotel rooms. It was both an honor and a dream for us to work with swedish icons such as Karin, Superspider and Jetson which of course was the foundation of the choice of furniture. To find the perfect balans between classic design and a modern touch we choose color as a binder and to work with the pattern from the mattress from the beds. The pattern is seen both in the wall panel and in the specially made furniture that we did in whitewashed ash and deep colors from each room´s wall color. In addition we applied lamps, carpets and mirrors that harmonized with the expression of the rooms. We also plunged in to Dux´s picture library and filled the walls with pictures of the furniture from the company that gave the rooms an even more Dux feeling. Together the colors, materials and the chosen furniture created a modern and cozy feeling of luxury that completely focus on giving the guest the best hotel experience.
