The Japanese construction industry has three major problems, a shortage of manpower, poor working conditions, and labour effectiveness. The Japanese government promotes ICT applications in the construction to solve these issues. This booth let visitors clearly imagine the future of construction work with ICT machinery. The main wall was made of materials used in the construction site such as pipes and scaffolding and coloured in the orange colour of the ICT construction machinery, representing the relation between construction site and construction machinery. The sequence of orange and white lightings portrayed the flow of information in the construction site through ICT.
The presentation with the cockpit the displayed machine and model machine helped visitors to imagine the detailed changes in construction site. Furthermore, the VR/AR simulation system allowed visitors to virtually experience the operation of ICT machine sitting in the cockpit of the construction machine displayed in the booth. This experience helped them to feel the actual transformation of their work place. The space impressively showed how Hitachi Construction Machinery changes the Japanese construction industry and brought the sense of expectancy.
