Serenity in Style
HeSheEat Cafe, located in a shopping mall at a prime location in Hong Kong, boasts a captivating interior design that effortlessly combines contemporary aesthetics with a Japanese vibe. As you approach the cafe, the full-height glass frontage immediately catches your eye, beckoning passersby to step inside and discover the hidden treasures within. The focal point of the space is the magnificent feature wall adorned with customized TAJIMI square tiles. These rich-textured tiles, meticulously arranged, create a visually striking pattern that spans from floor to ceiling. The texture and earthy tones of the tiles evoke a sense of warmth and tranquility. This project incorporates a captivating material contrast, featuring elements such as Tajimi tiles from Japan, terra cotta from Italy, warm wood tones, and textured painted walls. The combination of these materials adds depth, texture, and visual interest to the space, creating a harmonious blend of natural and artistic elements, whereas the patrons can unwind and indulge in a moment of respite from the bustling city outside.
In response to the shopping mall's request for a sports element, and considering the client's preference for a design style that didn't overtly emphasize sports, a delicate balance was sought. The solution was to install a unique and intriguing structure reminiscent of a sports runway on the ceiling. This innovative approach allowed for the incorporation of a sports element in a subtle and understated manner. The runway structure, crafted in earth tones, seamlessly blends with the overall design style of the cafe, ensuring a cohesive aesthetic. By adopting this approach, the design team successfully fulfilled the requirements of both the shopping mall and the client. This creative solution demonstrates the ability of the design team to think outside the box and find compromises that satisfy all parties involved. The incorporation of the runway structure in an earth tone palette not only adds visual interest to the ceiling but also enhances the overall ambiance, creating a distinctive and memorable dining experience for its patrons.
In line with the design concept of "to see and to be seen", wooden partitions with checkers windows are strategically placed around the customized bouquet seating to provide semi-privacy without completely obstructing the view. These partitions offer a sense of intimacy and create cozy seating areas, while still allowing patrons to feel connected to the ambiance and energy of the entire space. The lighting fixtures, strategically positioned, cast a warm glow, adding to the cozy ambiance.
The attention to detail in this project is evident in every aspect, from the curved details of the wooden partitions and table legs to the massive customized ceiling structure reminiscent of a sports runway. These curved elements add a sense of fluidity and grace to the space, creating a visually captivating environment.
