For Hedkandi Hotel Arts, we renovated our clients’ first and busiest salon. The concept was to take a modernist approach to a simple yet architectural space. We employed a pallet of primarily black and white finishes, creating a canvas for thoughtful pops of colour. Bold design features are carefully positioned throughout the salon, including circular screens made of lacquered OSB to both frame and delineate the retail and salon experiences. Abundant product display surrounds an integrated retail lounge area and becomes an intentionally colourful component in a primarily monochromatic space. Bold and dramatic curved furniture pieces add a soft layer of femininity to an otherwise stark modern shell. The custom abstract geometric metal clad reception desk is specially finished with automotive paint to give a layer of lacquered shine. From first impression to final experience, clients are immersed in a space that exemplifies a stylishness and attitude they themselves embody.
