In 2020, Luc Spits fully integrated interior architecture into his projects, the interior office was born. Raw and natural material composes this new volume in length. Innovation The innovation of the project is in the search for innovative materials by combining techniques from yesteryear. Unique patterns have been created for steel and made entirely by hand. The fabric devouring technique was used to create the look of metal. Creativity The creativity developed on this project is the general line of force given by the length, a space of 5mx20m long. The idea was to accentuate this length with a desk created in one piece, i.e. 11m long. This desk is made of a 5mm steel sheet and fixed to the existing concrete columns. Functionality The main tool of interior design is the material, a sample material library has been created to be visible and available with a specific lighting rendering. It also serves as a showcase and moodboard for welcoming customers. The steel office table integrates the techniques, a groove is integrated to pass the electrical cables of the computers, nothing is visible, the computer towers are also integrated in steel boxes. Durability The wooden floors have been rehabilitated from old Canadian barns. The lime coating was designed with natural pigments, the colors were specially created for the project. The lime was chosen because it lets the walls breathe and promotes hygrometric exchanges. A feeling of well-being emanates from this space entirely composed of natural material. Inclusiveness The interior office is included in the existing building, a blue stone cube made 10 years ago by Luc Spits. The ground floor allows access to people with reduced mobility.
