The Health & Beauty brand project, located in Shanghai, is centered around the philosophy of reconnecting with nature and exploring the primal self. The brand aims to create an emotional resonance with consumers by shaping its inner soul. Shang Interior Architects sought to express this essence through spatial design, making the brand's philosophy tangible and manifest. The project challenges traditional office layouts, creating a dynamic, flexible work environment that encourages interaction, free-flowing work, and creative collisions. The goal was to shift the traditional understanding of "work" and restore the fundamental needs of the individual.

The design integrates the functionality of both experimenting and creating, which are usually separated in traditional office layouts. Instead, the project merges the laboratory and meeting spaces into one central, open creative hub, acting as the heart of the workspace. This hub fosters collaboration, experimentation, and ideation, with magnetic walls and suspended whiteboards allowing for instant creative expression. The space is designed to be both rational and emotionally stimulating, where abstract scientific and research content becomes accessible and engaging.

The use of light gray tones for the walls and low-saturation green columns reflects the brand's natural identity, while terrazzo and embossed steel flooring create a harmonious balance between reason and nature. Details such as the colorful accents on custom furniture and movable elements inject subtle energy into the space. The creative core, distinct from the surrounding areas, features natural-colored embossed steel flooring that signals its scientific and experimental purpose. Contrasting this is a central birchwood table, adding a touch of warmth and humanity to the otherwise tech-oriented environment.

Throughout, the space flows seamlessly with the changing times and seasons, offering an ever-evolving environment that fosters creativity and innovation. This office redefines the workspace by combining function, flexibility, and a deep connection to the brand's philosophy.
