CONCEPT RESTAURANT – A VISION FOR THE FUTURE OF HOSPITALITY
As part of Interihotel Fair’s Concept Rooms, this project serves as a collaborative laboratory exploring the future of hospitality and restaurant design. EL EQUIPO CREATIVO was invited to reimagine a dining space inspired by CoolRooms Hotels, a luxury hotel brand known for blending history and innovation within emblematic buildings in different spanish historic centres. The challenge was to create a Concept Restaurant that captures the essence of CoolRooms Hotels while pushing the boundaries of traditional dining experiences.
INNOVATION
• The Concept Restaurant reimagines traditional dining by merging two distinct spaces (dining area and bar) into a single, versatile centerpiece.
• A central table fosters socialization, gathering, and new gastronomic experiences beyond just eating and drinking.
• The design challenges conventional relationships between guests and staff, offering an immersive, shared dining experience.
• The integration of a cold, metallic worktable—typically found in kitchens—into an elegant dining setting transforms the way guests interact with the space and the chef.
FUNCTIONALITY
• The Concept Room includes both a dining and bar area, unified into a cohesive space that adapts to different seating arrangements.
• A dual-environment concept:
o Daytime ambiance: Lower tables in a bright, sunlit setting evoke an open, natural atmosphere, enhanced by touches of greenery.
o Nighttime ambiance: High tables and stools in deep wine-red tones create a warm, intimate setting for evening experiences.
• The space is designed to facilitate different interactions, from formal dining to casual gatherings.
CREATIVITY
• Inspired by the palatial buildings of CoolRooms Hotels, the design blends historical and contemporary elements to create a unique aesthetic.
• Classical forms such as arches, balustrades, and curved furniture are combined with modern textures and materials to create a dialogue between the past and present.
• Rich colors, mirrors, drapery, and artistic flooring contribute to an evocative and immersive experience.
• The lighting, furniture placement, and color palette create a dynamic transition between different moments of the day.
ECO-SOCIAL IMPACT
• Sustainability is a core value of both CoolRooms Hotels and EL EQUIPO CREATIVO.
• The project prioritizes collaboration with local brands that meet high sustainability standards and offer tailored guidance.
• The design encourages a connection with local spanish culture by embracing communal dining traditions and celebrating shared experiences.
