The concept Genever Lounge came to life based on the idea of a tribute to Dutch spirit. “Jonge Jenever en oude Meesters” (Young Genever and Old Masters) translated into a creative concept. The Genever Lounge is a new hospitality concept. The sphere of the Genever Lounge is touched by history, heritage, and breathes the atmosphere of a gentleman’s club. The wallpaper and rugs “Tulip Fields” are specially designed for the Genever Lounge as well as the 315 centimeter high cabinet, the leather walls with niches and wall paneling. All furniture, such as sofas poufs and tables are exclusively produced matching the color scheme of the presentation (dark purple, cherry red and Delfts blue) Delfts Blue, Dutch apples, hanging in branches from the ceiling, Dutch Genever and tulips give the atmosphere the Dutch spirt. As a tribute to Dutch Masters, Photo art was special created/designed with lush flowers. The historical feeling of Dutch Masters on the leather wall throws you back to the days Genever was first produced. For the bar a petrified wood piece was found. A root of a big tree completed the structure of the bar; A new concept where the bartender is standing just next to the client instead of “on the other side of the bar”. As Vincent van Gogh’s “Aardappeleters” is a worldwide famous Painting, a potatoe is a typical Dutch product. 20 photographs of 20 different potatoes were used as art on one of the walls that was first covered with the wallpaper Tulip Fields.
