The case is located at the eastern end of Chongming Island and is the connection point between Chongming Island and Shanghai, with a good ecological environment. Chongming Island is known as the "gateway of the Yangtze River and the East China Sea Island". "Chong" means high, "Ming" means the sea and the sky, and Chongming means "the clear and wide ground above the water". Matrix's design is based on the principle of "let it be." Matrix uses modern design techniques to metaphor Chinese traditions, and builds a courtyard cultural experience hall in an oriental context, harmoniously integrating the living needs of modern people into local nature and culture on the basis of respect for natural scenery. The overall design of the project is based on natural and simple style. The use of natural wood is the design highlight. Light is the best filter. Matrix makes full use of the expressive power of light to integrate the outside scene into the space to create a natural world. Mystery is hidden in the seemingly peaceful space. The sense of ritual starts from the pre-reception space. The interior structure is decorated with warm gray stone and natural texture of logs and metal. The metal forged art reception counter echoes with the art screen, which makes it both natural and flexible. With the greenery of pine and cypress on the tea table, rest should be an enjoyment of art. When visitor arrived at the sand table, the sight was suddenly bright, and he/she could have a glimpse of the scenery in the garden with just one glance. The traditional handicrafts of Chongming Island were extracted according to local conditions and presented with modern expression methods. The map form of Chongming Island was selected, and the exclusive art sculpture belonging to Chongming Island was made in equal proportions. The bronze metal was cut and electroplated and layered, which aroused the modern people's chemical reaction to art. Travelling in the old and new time to recall the past, and watch the future. The collision of metal and wood acts like small and big pearls dropping and scattering into a jade plate, the tranquility of the dry mountain stones, the lightness of the wind blowing copper bells, the traditional cast iron copper casting process of Chongming Island, and the hand-made metal Chinese character art installation “家中多吴语,教尔遥可知“, which is a Chinese ancient poem record the local language culture. It solidified the connection between Chinese characters and Wu language(a dialect) and the excitement of local traditional culture. The designer has made the natural, lawless space regular and full of ritual. The symmetrical layout and display cabinets all show a sense of order. The painting on the wall is from Sergey Samus, a Belarusian artist. The artist was inspired by the water painting of Ma Yuan, a Song Dynasty painter in China, and blurred the figurative form. The series of works perfectly complements the oriental charm of space. Beyond the law, the huge spiral ladder makes the flow of space rhythm from the top to the bottom a metaphor of relative excitement, forming a subtle contrast with the quiet space in which you live. The artwork on the long table is from the work "Ship of Landscape" created by the emerging artist Ying Wei. The common landscape, tea set and other forms are used to strip off its inherent state and provide a beautiful artistic conception of spiritual comfort. Elements that seem to have met show a strange feeling in the artwork. The designer hopes to "let it go" to create a "belonging space", just like a hermit living alone, scattered all over the world, with art, atmosphere and detachment, waiting silently for people who has a passion for it.
