Fueguia 1833 New York is the brand’s first North American retail shop. The worldwide perfumery concept started in 2010 by native Argentinian, Julian Bedel. The source of inspiration was Argentinia’s vast Patagonia region. Fueguia 1833’s brand name is a tribute to the age of exploration by Charles Darwin and Argentinian Robert Fitz Roy. The journey of scent is a powerful influence in our other sensory perceptions and our memories, a moment of time forever captured. Patagonia is a region that has captured fascination, curiosity, the desire for exploration in its history and culture. The owner desired for the journey of scent and fragrances that will best capture the story of Patagonia both for those far and near. The owner and designer, both sharing a profound admiration of Argentinia and the Patagonia envisioned how the brand’s entrance to North America would not only be a representation of Patagonia but where Patagonia and New York mutually share an intimate connection. Fueguia 1833 New York would be both a New York experience and a Patagonian one. Fueguia 1833 would contribute to a vibrant, classic and eclectic New York neighborhood express its own story of Patagonia.
