The 63rd floor apartment, designed by Keck, is a two bedroom with panoramic views of the New York Harbor. The residence feels as if it is suspended in the sky, and the design was inspired by the atmosphere present at 700 feet. Warm whites and soft textures are underlined by decisive forms. There is a sense of rooted in an awareness of lighting, composition, and balance. The design of the apartment allows for the artwork to change over time. All furnishings were chosen to both serve a function and to exist as objects in the space; they range from contemporary pieces and vintage finds to custom works designed by Keck. The foyer was approached as a tone-setting space; it hosts four essential objects: a braided Naimarquina rug, an oversized steel mirror, a red i-beam table, and a mirrored ceiling light. The dining room, looking over the water and sky, is composed of a maple dining table and Densen chairs by Egg Collective. All are set against a black and white photograph, by Robert Andersen. A pendant light by Michael Anastassiades hangs low grounding the atmospheric experience. The Dominic McHenry sculpture, made of pigment, wax, and wood, marks the living room entrance. Écru Frank sofas by Antonio Citterio and a mohair rug form an airy living room that includes a walnut and woven leather chair and Mid-century rosewood Rex Raab nesting tables. A painting by Larry Lee Webb, titled #2 Cartouche, becomes an abstract reflection of the surrounding sky. In the bedroom, photographs capturing the spirit of Marfa, Texas., also by Robert Andersen, are in dialogue with the Donald Judd print, Untitled, 1978. The apartment is a study in how function, form, lines, negative space, and light create harmony when objects and materials are artfully arranged.
