FORESTIS is a place of silence that makes the dimensions of time, nature and your own self perceivable in a completely new way. Innovation. The art of simplicity: The FORESTIS architecture takes a step back, just as each tree in the forest gives space to the others. From a whole series of thoughts, three towers have emerged, growing out of the Alpine terrain like tree trunks to take as little space as possible from nature by minimizing landscape obstruction. The architecture withdraws itself and leaves the stage to the view. From all the suites in the historic building and the suites and penthouses in the three towers, guests will be able to see the imposing mountain massifs of the Dolomites. The terraced restaurant below the listed building also offers each guest a free view of nature and in the evening of the spectacular sunsets in the Dolomites. Creativity. The architectural concept grew out of a process that lasted for years. The clients deliberately decided against the usual 'let's-copy-what-works' approach. Through the interplay of elements that can be experienced with all the senses, not only visually, but also in terms of touch, smell, hearing and taste a harmonious overall picture was created in the design. The architectural center remains the historic main building: its interiors have been respectfully renovated using original, natural materials. Functionality. The four causal elements, spring water, air, sun and climate, are represented by the interior design and architecture with the use of four natural materials. The stone is a central material: a mineral surface coating allowed the dolomite to enter the building. Glass represents by its transparency the good air quality. The guest is therefore in the middle of the forest, at eye level with the monumental Dolomites, UNESCO World Natural Heritage. The sun strengthens and warms, and that’s why natural warm fabrics have been used to radiate comfort. Walls and ceilings in the suites are made of untreated spruce. Sustainability. For the clients, this luxury of simplicity includes everything that defines FORESTIS, starting with the ingredients that the kitchen team will find in the nearby forest, right through to the consistent mindset of leaving nature free space and treating this gift with respect and awe. The entire establishment is outfitted with natural materials from the surrounding area, while care is always taken in the daily working routine to save every unnecessary mile and to leave the most ecological footprint possible. All rooms are designed to face the sun. No matter where you are, light and energy penetrate every room.
