In 1967 Elio Fiorucci first opened a store in Milan and during the years that followed he revolutionized fashion, creating a brand that was not just about the product, but was a cheeky and cheerful utopia where his shopper could dive into his very own visual universe. 50 years on Brinkworth were invited to create the new store for the re-launch of this iconic brand in Soho and with a shared passion for the brand, Adam Brinkworth invited the Wilson Brothers to collaborate on the project. The store concept for Fiorucci’s celebrated come back, is enriched with its incredible resource of inspirational style, graphics and art from their past. A ceiling frame infrastructure within the main ground floor determines the layout, working to alter the space both horizontally and vertically. Built to support an interchangeable system of illuminated historic and new graphic ceiling panels, lighting tracks, vertical screens and curtains the whole floor can flex to be open, closed, transparent or solid, allowing the space to continually evolve. A prominent spiral staircase adorned with planting leads to a more chilled and unexpected lounge-oriented retail area upstairs.
