Falabella Costanera Center store remodeling project is not just a regular restyling but is also the beginning of a new customer approach for the largest South American department store retailer. The new project not only sought to update the store to a more contemporary look, but also to incorporate different planning strategies related to new and more elaborate product offerings with an accent in product experience and technological interaction. This renovation is the beginning of a four stages plan in accordance with the department store levels. The new floor layout features women’s fashion and sportswear, designer handbags, woman’s shoes, accessories, jewelry and beauty selections. The space was re-imagined as an open and clean environment where all the different brands, furniture and fixtures are part of a greater whole. The former boundaries between areas were blurred so that the customer could move or discover the space freely and unrestricted. The junction between the store and clientele is enhance since the store is able to talk, guide and teach throughout the customer journey. Technology was applied in the form of ‘talking’ digital signage from the entrance to the staircase atrium engaging the customer in a direct and experiential way. Interactive touch points were also located for stock inquiries and online purchases. All this converges to a more inspired, informed and assisted shopping experience inside the store.
