Located at 4054 Asunción Street in Devoto neighborhood, one block from its iconic studio, MMCV has designed a new architectural proposal on the ground floor of one of its buildings, for the Fabric Sushi restaurant franchise. Some key elements of Japanese architecture have been redefined: Kiri's natural wood ceilings are suspended in indoor and outdoor areas, giving unity to the space and blurring the boundaries. The materials were chosen in their natural expression, coexisting concrete, stone, rust, wood and vegetation. The place has three areas; Hall, alley and backyard. The hall, the only interior space of the restaurant, is delimited with glass around its perimeter and is crossed by the roofs to the outside. In the right wing there is a large sushi and cocktail preparation bar where an attached wooden table allows the possibility of enjoying the experience, being able to observe closely each preparation, or sit down to have an exquisite cocktail. To the left is the main hall where its concrete partitions filter the images with the island. In the center of the restaurant, there is a group table and a bar where the sushiman can prepare exclusively sharing each part of the process, generating a unique experience. The alley, which is located to the left of the restaurant, offers a more informal semi-covered atmosphere, lined with street signs and typical Japanese elements. Through the alley you can access the backyard. A cool, wooded atmosphere, reminiscent of ancient Japanese Zen gardens.
