Intelligent building elements are an integral part of the development of future-oriented smart buildings and cities. Through them, the building envelope becomes an active communicator between users and the built environment. For the product launch of the innovative liquid crystal glasses of the brand EYRISE, 3deluxe was commissioned to develop a spatial structure in the Innovation Center of the company Merck in Darmstadt, which stages the advantages of the entire product family. An open polygonal wooden sculpture was created consisting of two modules that engage in an exciting dialogue and create an impressive space - the Eyrise Cubicle. Like a cut-out fragment of an ultra-modern wooden architecture, it stands as a sculptural object in the Merck Innovation Center in Darmstadt. Viewed from the outside, the Cubicles form a complex media installation, providing multi-layered views in and out through the glass into the heart of the installation. Inside, a contemplative place is created that brings nature into the interior and creates space for communication and withdrawn work. But the dynamic sculpture also offers a variety of possibilities as a set design for virtual, Corona-compliant staging for product presentation. A dialogue between the two halves of the room is created via the complex media playback. The dedicated switching of the panes combined with full-surface projections and underlying sound impressively conveys the fascinating control possibilities of the EYRISE panes. In addition, visitors have the opportunity to selectively control the glasses via a seamlessly integrated touch-screen interface. The modules, which appear as if they have been cut apart, join together inside via the space in between to create a holistic spatial experience, thus incorporating the architecture of the Innovation Center. The large trees and light wood surfaces create a pleasant contrast to the high-tech glass. The Eyrise Cubicles impressively stage the innovative technology of the energy-efficient, continuously controllable solar control glass as well as the emotional level of the Lightwellness proclaimed by Merck.
