Designing for the best designers in our country is not an easy task.
We affront this project as a game, in which every exposed piece would float, as it happens in our memories… In this way, instead of simply making an exhibition of pieces, it would be and exhibition of memories…
Memories should be kept intact, from this point on we designed a cylinder that would kept and would protected the exhibited pieces. The material chosen was methacrylate, for its transparency, lightness and possibility of bending, and through two standard methacrylate sheets stuck together we made the cylinders for the exposed pieces.
25 cylinders, one for each edition of the Spanish Design Awards, laid out inside the huge space of DIMAD, in Matadero of Madrid, in order to each visitor could go through the space freely and have their own remember of the exhibition.
25 cylinders as base of the exhibition graphics, made by vinyl lettering, indicating all the information about each designer and the award date.
25 cylinders with two boreholes which would let the visitors to activate the creativity, introduce their heads inside, interact with the pieces and listen to the voice of each designer explaining his project.
And at the end of the exhibition an open space, like a big living room, in which everybody can spend their time thinking about design, trying and feeling the pieces and watching a video about the Spanish Design Awards.
