For its 85th season the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal showcases the Espace OSM: an interactive exhibition about classical music where visitors create their own journey through a permanent yet evolutive space. Here, the history of the institution meets a vibrant digital laboratory showcasing the Orchestra’s unique mission to make music accessible to everyone. The Espace OSM whispers a renewed story about the Orchestra, right at the heart of Montreal’s entertainment center. The prestigious yet warming overall ambiance stimulates the feeling of belonging to the institution, transcending generations and enduring relevancy of classical music. The space was primarily configured by implanting the “Coeur Vibrant”, the zone holding the numeric experiences at its heart. It is surrounded by artifacts such as trophies, medals, programs and tour posters highlighting its rich history to anchor the digital vision into an eloquent emotional context. As they move through the Espace’s six evolutive areas and its various contents, visitors from all age groups and backgrounds rediscover classical music beyond the concert hall. The concept personified by the design asses OSM’s desire to get closer to their current and future visitors. It allows the institution to gain new publics while proposing an added value to the faithful ticket purchasers. By commissioning a free access to this major cultural feature, the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal is truly contributing to the city's vitality.
