lauckgroup, now Perkins+Will, donated their time and services to artfully craft Emancipet’s new Central Austin location. Working within a budget funded by donations, the 3,900-square-foot space was designed to be both energetic and whimsical, providing visitors and their beloved pets with a cheerful pet care experience. The team utilized Emancipet’s brand color palette of red, yellow, and teal blue to define the different spaces and serve as wayfinding elements. Natural materials such as distressed woods and industrial metals are woven throughout to incorporate warm touches reminiscent of home, and durable materials for ease of maintenance.
Remodeling the existing retail space, the clinic was outfitted with separate entrances for healthy and sick animals, a doghouse-themed check-in desk, a back-of-house employee break room, six state-of-the-art exam rooms, and a three-table surgical suite. The spacious reception area is subtly divided to separate felines from their foes, set against the large doghouse backdrop—which is framed in red and branded with the Emancipet logo. As visitors move through the clinic, the lobby gives way to colorful, softly-branded medical rooms outfitted with donated digital X-ray, dental X-ray, and blood analysis machines.
