From Xi'an to Shanghai, HONG Designworks has always followed the philosophy of ECCO,“lasting, nature and rhythm”. From design to material selection, designers fully expressed the possibility of harmonious coexistence with nature and created a modern office in Shanghai for ECCO that adheres to sustainability, comfort, nature and relaxation. The arch element of the Shanghai classic building is applied in the elevator lobby, the arches are used to guide the movement lines, and the interlocking lines create a three-dimensional effect.

The ECCO Forest is a rainforest-like space behind the reception desk made up of iridescent glass and greenery, and the special leather reception desk uses the leather innovation of ECCO spirit, sustainability. The embellishment of different materials in the interactive scene, iridescent glass and leather, terrazzo and wood, brings fun into the minimalism. Corner walls on both sides are created with red bricks in vertical and small leather bricks in the horizon, colliding with different textures in an extreme Shanghai style.

A special artwork is hanging beside the reception desk. This art installation is by using the technique of Chinese Silk Embroidery on ECCO transparent leather to explain the history of ECCO. The transparent leather is produced by ECCO, all made in an environmentally friendly way, which is a renewable material. Directly behind the reception is the meeting room, which has a great view overlooking the Huangpu River. Designer has given this space multiple attributes including conversation and negotiation, and all the equipment here except the bar can be moved by needs.

The art installation in the meeting room is a re-creation of the collection of old Shanghai window panes, carved with laser. As an important human landscape in ECCO Shanghai office, it lets more people understand Shanghai culture and link tradition to modern space, so that the inheritance of culture can be traced. Carpet is from Sweden and made of recycled nylon. Behind another archway is the pantry, where people can chat or rest with the cityscape. On the background wall is a newspaper clipping artwork of the elements of Shikumen and Danish cityscape, connecting the two cities.

The art installation in VIP Lounge is inspired by a wheat field, where the ECCO leather factory is located, using ECCO's transparent leather as the base to show the concept of wheat waves. Coral orange is the accent color of the space, interweaving in soft brown and beige.

The Showroom adopted the concept of contour lines to highlight the concept of “ecology”. The latest works will be displayed more freely on the smooth and curved exhibition area, interacting with people and objects. Not only that, by optimizing the functional layout and its lighting and ventilation, ECCO puts people first and realizes a healthier and more comfortable office space.
