Project and client brief
The client commissioned E Plus A Atelier to design a sophisticated living space that is both multi-functional and sustainable. With a design that caters to the family needs and serves as an ideal space for social gatherings. The residence is located in a desirable location and therefore must reflect regional styles, incorporate a neutral color palette, and reflect the warm tones of the surrounding desert plains. The designers were tasked to incorporate sustainable elements that blend with the tropical gardens and surroundings while showcasing the iconic Dubai skyline. To add character to the residence, confident art and bold highlights that reflect the occupants' unique personalities will be incorporated.

Concept
E Plus A Atelier focused on liveability and sustainability in their design approach by creating a blueprint that for the inhabiting family while promoting efficient circulation throughout the residence and seamless integration with its surroundings. The design showcases an appreciation for Arabic-inspired style and biophilic living through exquisite detailing, a neutral color palette, and delicate elements. The result is a unique blend of modernism, extensionism, and an elegant nod to traditional Iranian opulence, creating a harmonious connection between the interior and the surrounding environment.

About the execution
Throughout the EA183 Private Residence, E Plus A Atelier has thoughtfully considered the family's demanding lifestyle to create a home with the comforts expected of a luxury hotel. The neutral colour palette and natural materials are emphasised with subtle highlights of teale, regional artwork and suspended sculptures. Constantly on the move, the inhabitants desired a stylish home they could effortlessly secure when away.

In addition to the artful execution of the interior design project, E Plus A Atelier's designers had sustainability and environmental consciousness in mind. The team wanted to create a residence that integrated seamlessly with its environment and leveraged the outside to extend the living space. By incorporating sustainable elements, the design blends with the surrounding landscape, while still providing the luxuries expected of a high-end residence. The subtle highlights of regional artwork and suspended sculptures are not only decorative but also serve as a nod to the local culture and heritage, highlighting the designers' commitment to creating a space that seamlessly blends beauty, function, and sustainability.

Challenges overcome
The most challenging installation was the grand, oversized staircase. E Plus A Atelier reworked the design blueprint to ensure that the white marble, brass detailing, and wood accents blended with the softness of the overall design. Alterations to the shell and core structure were technically challenging and required first-rate MEP planning to ensure functionality and practicality without compromising on aesthetics.
