Nulty completed an all LED lighting scheme for the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). A financial hub for the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, DIFC is a business district where financial institutions and contemporary office spaces meet commerce, cuisine and culture. Gate Village is an area within the district that connects shops and restaurants with galleries and communal green spaces. It serves as a central link within the district and features two bridges that connect the high-rise buildings on each side of the street. Working with 10DESIGN, Nulty implemented a lighting scheme to help cement Gate Village as a destination for its professional community, local residents and tourists and drive footfall during evenings and weekends.
Nulty’s lighting concept includes two illuminated bridges that encourage dwell time and allow people to orientate themselves and discover new shops and restaurants. Linear RGB media tubes were mounted onto the ribs of each bridge to strengthen their architectural shape and provide a stimulating display when they are in dynamic colour changing mode. Inside the bridges, halo lights are mounted to the ceiling to create an arresting 360 degree light portal as you walk through.
